This Indenture
made this 27th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and seventy six Between Philip Major of Amelia County of the one
part & William Clements of Bedford County of the other Part Witnesseth
that the said Philip Major for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred
Pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said William
Clements the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted Bargained
and Sold & by these presents doth grant Bargain & sell and Confirm
unto the said William Clements and his Heirs & assigns forever one Certain
Tract of Land Lying and being in the County of Amelia one hundred &
seven Acres and Bounded by A corner lightwood knot Joining William Ford
Junr. thence Along his Line to a corner Hickery Joining John Gill thence
to a corner Oak sapling thence along the said Gills line to a pine thence
along the said Gills Line again to another pine thence along Gills line
again to a oak Thence along said Gills Line again to To a Hickory upon the
Bank of Stocks Creek thence down sd. Creek To a Corner Beech Thence along
Porters line to a corner Hickory Bush thence a Long Butters Line to the
Beginning Together with the Reversion & reversions & Remainder and
Remainders thereof and every part & parcel thereof with all houses Orchards
Fences & all apurtanances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any
wise appertaining To have and to hold the sd. Land and Premises above mentioned
unto the said William Clements his Heirs and assigns to the only proper
use of the Said William Clements his heirs and assigns forever and the said
Philip Major for himself and his Heirs the said Tract of Land and Premises
with the appurtenances unto the said William Clements his Heirs and assigns
to the only proper Use and Behoof of the said William Clements his Heirs
& assigns Forever and the said Philip Major for himself & his Heirs
the Said Land & Premises against him and his Heirs and all Persons from
by or under him them or any of them to the said William Clements his Heirs
and assigns shall & will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents
In Witness whereby the said Philip Major hath hereunto set his hand and
seal the Day & year above Written
Memorandum that on the twenty seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred & Seventy six Full & Peaceable Possession & Seizing of the within Mentioned Land and Premises was given by the within Mentioned Philip Major To the within Named William Clement according to the with in written Deed
Received of the within Mentioned William Clements the sum and Consideration money in the within Deed mentioned by me.
