This Indenture
Made the twenty Forth Day of May in the year of our lord one thousand Seven
hundred and fifty nine Between William Ross of Amelia County the one Part
and William Clement Senr. of the
said County of the Other Part Witnesseth that the said William Ross for
and in consideration of the sum seventy Pounds Current Money of Virginia
to him in hand Paid the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge Hath
Granted Bargained sold Released and confirmed and by these presence Doth
Grant Bargain Sel Release and Confirm unto the said William
Clement Senr. his Heirs and Assigns for Ever one Certain Tract or Parcel
of land Containing One Hundred and fifty Acres more or less Adjoyning the
Land of Andrew Lester William Wilsman George Booker & George Evens on
which the said Ross now lives To have and To hold the said Land and premises
with their Appurtenances unto the said William
Clement Senr. his heirs and Assigns to the Only Proper Use and Behoof
of the said William Clement Senr.
his heirs and Assigns for Ever And the said William Ross for him and his
Heirs the said land and premises Against him and his heirs and all Persons
whatsoever Claiming from by or Under him them or Any of them to the said
Willaim Clement Senr. his heirs
and Assigns shall & will Warrant and forever Defend by these Presents
In Witness whereof the said William Ross hath hereunto Set his hand and
Seal the Day and Year Above Written.
Memorandum that on the Twenty Forth Day of May one Thousand Seven hundred and fifty Nine levery and Seazen of the whithin mentioned Land and Premises was Acknowledged to be made from William Ross feoffer to William Clement feoffee
At a Court held for Amelia County the 24th Day of May 1759 This Indenture and the Memorandum endorsed were Acknowledged by the within named William Ross party thereto & Ordered to be Record and Lucy the Wife of the said William personally appeared in Court and being Privily Examined as the Law directs voluntarily relinquished her Right of Dower in the Lands hereby Conveyed
