  This Indenture made this Twenty sixth Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty one Between John & Francis Clement of the County of Amelia & Lunenburg of the one part and Richard Phillops of the County of Amelia of the other part Witnesseth that the said John & Francis Clement for and in Consideration of the Sum of Sixty seven Pounds Five shillings Current Money of Virginia to them in hand paid by the said Richard Phillips the receipt whereof they doth hereby acknowledge hath granted Bargained sold Aliened Released and Confirmed and by these Presents for themselves & their Heirs doth grant bargain sell alien Release and Confirm unto the said Richard Phillips his Heirs and Assigns Forever one Certain Tract or parcel of Land Containing one hundred and Fifty acres by Estemation Be the same more or less Situate lying and being in the county of Amelia aforesaid and on Walkers Creek and is bounded as followeth, to wit, Begining at a Corner Red oak on John Tabbs line thence along the said John Tabbs line to William Hillsmans line thence along William Hilsmans Line to George Bookers line thence along George Bookers line to William Clements line then along William Clements line to the beginning Together with all Houses Orchards Gardens Fences Woods under woods Water and Water courses thereon standing Growing and being with all Proph Commodities advantages and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining and also the Reversion and Reversions Remainder & Remainders thereof and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the said Tract of Land with all and Singular the Premises unto the said Richard Phillips his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Richard Phillips his Heirs and Assigns forever and the said John and Francis Clement for themselves and their Heirs the land Premises and their and every of their apurtenances unto the said Richard Phillips his Heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend by these Presents against any person or Persons whatsoever having Lawfull Claiming or right in or to the same or any part thereof and the said John & Francis Clement for themselves and their Heirs Doth grant covenant and agree to and with the said Richard Phillips his Heirs and Assigns in Manner and form following that is to say that the said John & Francis Clement at the time of the sealing and Delivering of these Presents is and namd seized of an indefeazable Estate in fee simple of and in the Premises and hath good Right and Lawful Authority to sell and convey the same in Manner and form aforesaid and that the same shall forever Remain to the said Richard Phillips his Heirs and Assigns freely and Exonarated and Discharged of and all Manner of other and former bargains Sales Tener of Dowry all other Rites Whatsoever In Witness whereof the said John & Francis Clement hath hereunto set their hands & Seals the Day & year above written.

Memorandum that on the Twenty sixth Day of March one thousand seven hundred and sixty one Peaceable Possession of the within Mentioned Land and Premises was granted to the within Named Richard Phillips By the within named John and Francis Clement Covenanter of these Presents

This Indenture and the Memorandum endorsed were acknowledged by the within named John Clement and Francis Clement Parties thereto and ordered to be recorded
