This Indenture
made this twenty fourth day of december one thousand seven hundred and seventy
seven by & between William Clement of Amelia County of the one part
and Thomas Pollard of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth
that the sd. Wm. Clement for and in Consideration of the sum of Two hundred
and thirty pounds Currt. Money of Virginia to him in hand already Paid by
the sd. Thos. Pollard at & before the ensealing & delivery of these
Presents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof &
every part hereof doth clearly Acquit and discharge the said Thos. Pollard
him his heirs Execrs. & Admrs. and every of them by these presents hath
granted Aliend Bargained sold released and Confirmed and by these presents
doth grant alien bargain sell release & confirm unto the said Thomas
Pollard one Tract piece or Parcel of land lying in the County of Amelia
upon Stocks Creek Containing one hundred and Seven Acres and bounded as
followeth, Begining at a corner hickory in John Gills line thence a long
the sd. Gills line to a corner Red Oak sapling in the sd. Gills's line thence
along the sd. Gills line to a corner pine in the sd. Gills line thence along
the sd. line to a corner pine thence along the sd. line to a corner red
oak thence along the sd. line to a corner dogwood thence along the sd. line
to a corner Hickory upon the bank of Stocks Creek thence down the sd. Creek
a corner Beech upon the bank of the said Creek thence along James Porters
Line to a corner Hickory in Butlers line thence along thence along the Said
line to lightwood knot in Wm. Fords line thence along [the said] Fords line
the beginning Hickory with all and Singular the appurtenances thereunto
belonging unto the said Thos. Pollard & his heirs and assigns forever
the sd. Wm. Clement for himself his Heirs Excrs. & Adminrs. doth covenant
& grant to and with the said Thos. Pollard his heirs Excrs. Admrs. and
assigns by these presents that it shall & may be lawful to & for
the sd. Thos. Pollard his Heirs Exors. Admrs. & assigns from time to
time and at all times forever hereafter Peaceably & Quietly to have
& to hold use occupy Possess & enjoy the sd. premises the right
and title of the sd. Wm. Clements without any lawful let suit Trouble Molestation
or Interruption of the sd. Wm. Clement hisheirs Executors Admrs. or assigns
or any of them or any othe person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim
in by from or under them or any of them & the sd. Wm. Clement for himself
and his Heirs the sd. Premises as before Intended & Mentioned &
Exprest unto the sd. Thos. Pollard and his Heirs against him the sd. Wm.
Clement & his Heirs and all claiming or to claim in by from or under
them or any of them shall & will warrant and forever defend by these
presents In Witness whereof the sd. Wm. Clement hereunto put his hand &
affixt his Seal the day & year first within Mentioned

That on the twenty fourth day of Decr. one thousand seven hundred &
Seventy Seven Peaceable & Quiet Possession of the land & premises
within granted & sold was had and Taken by the within named Wm. Clement
and by him Taken & delivered to the within Named Thos. Pollard as the
usual Symbols of Livery & Seizen according to the force & affect
of the within deed
