This Indenture made the Nineteenth day of Aprill in the Twentieth year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the grace of God
of great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and in
the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred Fourty and Eight Between
Benjamin Clements of Amelia
County Black Smith of the one part and Edmund Walker of the aforesaid
County Planter of the other part Witnesseseth that the said Benjamin
Clements for divers good Causes and Considerations him thereunto moving
but more Especially for and in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty Pounds
Current Money to him in hand paid by the said Edmd. Walker at & before
the sealing & Delivery of these presents the receit whereof &
himself therewith fully satisfied contented & paid he doth hereby
acknowledge have given granted Sold remises aliened Transferred Enfeoffed
and Confirmed & by these Presents for himself his Heirs and assigns
he doth give grant Sell remise release alien Transfer Enfeoff & Confirm
unto the said Edmd. Walker & to his Heirs & assigns for ever with
all the Right Title Interest Possession Claim & Demand of him the
said Benja. Clement all that Plantation seat a part of a Tract of land
which was granted to Benja. Clement by one patent
bearing date the Sixteenth Day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand
seven Hundred and Thirty Eight and being bounded as by the sd. Patent
as mentioned and Exprest Except one Parcell or peace
of the said Land which was formerly sold by the said Clements Father to
Lewis Thomas Containing by Estimation one hundred & Fifty Acres
To have and to hold the said Plantation or Tract of Land Messauges Tenements
and all other the Premises herein before granted Bargained & Sold
and every part thereof with all right Members and Appertenances thereunto
belonging unto the said Edmund Walker and to his Heirs and assigns for
ever To be held of our Sovereign Lord the King his Heirs and Successors
as of the Mannor of East Greenwich in the County of Kent in free common
Yielding and Paying the due rents Due and accustomed to be paid for the
same being one shilling for every Fifty Acres and the Said Benja.
Clement for himself his Heirs Executrs. adminrs. and Assigns &
every of the doth Covenant promise grant and agree to and with the sd.
Edmd. Walker his Heirs Exectrs. adminrs. and Assigns & every of them
in manner Following that is to say that he the said Benjamin
Clement now hath & untill the Estate hereby meant mentioned &
intended to be made to the said Edmd. Walker his Heirs and Assigns forever
to his and there own Proper use & behoof shall be fully absolutly
& Lawfully Executed and vested in the SD Edmd. Walker his Heirs &
Assigns forever as aforesd. Shall Continue to have hold & Enjoy a
good perfect absolute free & Indefeazable Estate in fee Simple to
him & his Heirs for ever of in and unto ye Premises herein before
granted and every part thereof with ye Appurtenances and that he hath
good rightfull Power and Lawfull Authority to Convey the same in Manner
herein before Expressed unto the said Edmund Walker & to his Heirs
& Assigns forever and that the SD granted premises & every part
thereof with the Appurtenances are free & clear of & from all
forms & other gifts grants Bargain sales Extants recognizances Judgments
Executions Covenants articles agreements Intails Wills dowers Joynters
& from all & all manner of other Titles Troubles & Incumberances
whatsoever & shall so remain untill ye Estate hereby Intended to be
made shall be fully and Absolutely to all Intents & Purposes vested
in and Confirmed unto the said Edmd. Walker his Heirs and Assigns forever
and that the said Edmd. Walker his Heirs and Assigns forever hereafter
Yielding and Paying the Quitrents for the same aforesd. may and shall
peacably and Quietly have hold Occupy Possess and Enjoy the said granted
Premises & every part thereof with the Appurtenances full freely &
absolutely Exonerated Acquited & Discharged of & from all &
all manner of former & other Bargains Sales gifts grants Estates Rents
releases & of & from all Joyntures Dowers Statutes Recognizances
Judgments Executions forfeitures Seizures Issues Extents Escheats &
all other Charges Titles Troubles & Incumbrances & Demands whatsoever
made Committed Suffered Acknowledged Executed or done or hereafter to
be acknowledged had made committed suffered Executed or Done by him the
said Benja. Clement his Heirs
Exectrs. administrs. or Assigns or by any other Person or Persons whatsoever
& free and Clear of & from any Lett Suit Trouble or Charge whatsoever
of or by ye SD Benja. Clement
his Heirs Exectrs. adminrs or Assigns all & Singular the herein before
granted premises with the Appurtenances unto the said Edmd. Walker his
Heirs & Assigns shall and will Warrant and forever Defend by these
presents against him the SD Benja.
Clement his Heirs Execrs. adminrs. & Assigns and every of them
and against all and every other Person or Persons whatsoever and Lastly
that from time to time and all times the SD Benja.
Clement his Heirs Exrs. & c. doth hereby Covenant grant and agree
to any other Act or Deed or Lawfull Conveyance to the SD Edmd. Walker
his Heirs or Assigns if he or they shall request it within Ten Years Next
ensuing the Date of these Presents for the further better and more sure
makeing and Conveying the same aforementioned Premises according to the
true intent meaning and purpose of this Indenture In Witness whereof I
have hereunto set my hand & Affixed my Seal the Day and year first
above Written

At a Court held for Amelia County the 17th day of August 1748 Benjamin
Clement presented and acknowledged his Deed and Livery and Seison Indorsed
to Edmund Walker and ordered to be recorded Susanna
the wife of the said Benjamin
being first privately Examined and Voluntarily assenting thereto relinquished
her right of Dower in the Land conveyed by the Said Deed

CLEMENT acquired the land he conveyed in the above deed by Virginia
