This Indenture made this Eleventh day of September One thousand Seven hundred and ninety four Between Isham Clements of the County of Amelia of the one part and John Webster Gilbert of the County of Campbell of the other part Witnesseth that the said Isham Clements for and in Consideration of Four hundred pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said John Webster Gilbert the Receipt of which he doth hereby acknowledge Hath granted and sold and by these presents do absolutely sell and confirm unto the said John Webster Gilbert a Certain piece of Land in the aforesaid County of Amelia on Appomattox River Containing Ten Acres being the same devis'd to the said Isham Clement by his late Father William Clement decd in Amelia County also the Mills adjoining the same on the said River known by the Appomattox Clements Mill To have and to hold the above Sold Ten Acres of Land and Mills with all and Every their Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining unto the said John Webster Gilbert and to his Heirs and Assigns forever and the said Isham Clement for himself and his Heirs forever hereby Covenants and agrees to and with the said John Webster Gilbert the above granted and sold ten Acres of Land with all and singular their appurtenances and prevelidges including the aforesaid Mills unto the said John Webster Gilbert and to his Heirs and Assigns forever for their own proper use and uses against the Claim & demand of all persons or any persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the said Isham Clements hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day & year above written

Memo.  

The said Isham Clements is to keep Possession of the within sold Land and Mills until the 20th day of December 1795. and then deliver the whole thereof to the within named John Webster Gilbert or to his Heirs in good Order as the the Mill and other appurtenances now are

This Indenture from Isham Clement to John W Gilbert was Acknowledged by the said Isham to be his act and deed and the Memo thereon endorsed presented into Court and on the motion of the said Isham all of which was ordered to be Recorded
