This Indenture made this Seventh Day of September in the year of our Lord God one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Between Benjamin Butterworth of Bedford County in the Province of Virginia of the one Part and Henry Green of Baltimore County of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Butterworth for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred & one Pounds five Shillings Current Money of Pennsylvania to him in hand passed or Secured to be passed by the said Henry Green the Receipt whereof the said Benjamin Butterworth hath Granted Bargained Sold Aliend and Confirmed and by these Presents doth Grant Bargain Sell Alien & Confirm unto the said Henry Green his heirs & Assigns forever part of A tract of Land Called John G. L[anos] Lott, originally on the tenth Day of july 1724 Granted unto A certain Isaac Butterworth of Baltimore County for one hundred & Eighty acres as by patent Relation thereto had may more fully appear Lying and being in Baltimore County Beginning at the End of the West Line of a tract of Land Called John G. L[???] Lott and runing thence North three Degs East one hundred and Seventy four perches to a tract Land Called unkles Goodwill thence bounding on unkles Goodwill Aforesaid West by South one hundred & forty perches then South three Degs West Two hundred & Six Perches thence along the Giving Line North Sixty Six and a half Degs East Fifty Eight perches untill it intersects a tract of Land Called Howards Lott and then bounding on said Land North two Deg.s East one hundred & forty Seven perches Still bounding on on said Said Land South South East one hundred and thirty three perches to the Aforesaid Giving Line and thence by [???] Line to the Beginning Containing and laid out for one hundred and Forty Two acres more or Less Togther with twenty acres of Land being part of a tract of Land Called unlkes Goodwill as has already been laid off by Tho[nin] Wheeler Agreeable to the last will and Testament of Isaac Butterworth Sr deceased father to the said Benjamin Butterworth And all Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders whatsoever To have & To hold the aforesaid Bargained Land and premises and every part & parcel thereof unto the said Henry Green his heirs & Assigns forever And the aforesaid Benjamin Butterworth for himself and his heirs the aforesaid Land & Every part thereof against him & his heirs & assigns & Against all others Claiming from or under him will for Ever warrant and Defend In Witness whereof the said Benjamin Butterworth hath hereunto set his hand & Seal the Day and year first above Written
Between the Seventeen and Eighteen Lines is interlined with the words and Testament Between the Nineteenth & twentieth Lines is interlined with the words Assigns before the Sealing of these Presence

Reced of the within named Henry Green one hundred & one pounds five Shillings Current Money of Pennsylvania being the Consideration of the within [??] Land & Premisses this 7th Day of Sept.r 1770

Memorandum That on the 7 Day of Sept. 1770 Came before us two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Baltimore County the within Named Benjamin Butterworth and acknowledged the within mentioned Instrument to be his Act and Deed & at the same time Came Elizabeth this wife of the sd. Benj.a Butterworth who being Privallly Examined out of the hearing of her sd. husband freely and [??] acknowledged her Right of Dower to the within land & Premises According to the act of Assembly in that Case made & Provided

Reced 29 September 1770 Six Shillings & Seven Pence Sterling Alienation Fine on the within Land for the use of Lord Baltimore by order of his Agent [G]an [B]owly
