This Indenture
made this twenty seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven Hundred and seventy Between Charles Lynch John Lynch and Christopher
Lynch of Bedford County of the one part and Adam
Clements of same County of the other part Witnesseth that they the said
Charles John and Christopher hath for and In consideration of the sum of
one hundred pounds to them paid the Receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge
Given granted Bargained sold Enfeofed and by these presents Confirmd unto
the said Adam Clements one Certain
track or parcel of Land Containing seven hundred and forty acres Being on
the head Branches of Bever Creek in the County of Bedford and being part
of Two Thousand Six hundred thrity & two acres Taken up in partnershp
Between John Thomason Deceased & Lynches and Bounded as followeth to
wit Begining at a pine a Corner mentioned in the patent thence by the Same
afsd. patent south fifty East one hundred and sixty six po. to a Chesnut
south one hundred and thirty six poles to a Red oak then south sixty five
west one hundred and fourteen poles to a pine then south Thirty five East
twenty Eight poles to pointers then south sixty East one hundred Po. to
a red oak then south Eighty East fifteen poles to a white Oak then south
Twelve East Eighty poles to a white Oak then south Eighty East forty five
po. to pointers then North sixty & five East two hundred and Twenty
po. to pointers then south thirty East fifty Eight Po. to a pine then North
Twenty five west one hundred and Ninety poles to pointers then North Ninety
Eight poles to pointers thence the Dividing line south Eighty Eight west
Crossing the main Fork of Bever Creek three hundred seventy & six poles
to the first station Together with all woods ways waters Profits Easements
and Commodities hereditements or appurtinances to the same belonging or
in any wise appurtaining To have and to hold the said Track of Land with
all the priviledges thereunto Belonging to the only proper use and behoof
of him the said Adam Clements
his heirs and assigns forever and farther the said Chas. John & Christopher
doth agree to make the said Clement
such further Deed as he shall Require he being at all Cost & Charge
for the same & will warrant and Defend from all persons Laying any Claim
the said Land & premises unto the said Adam
Clements his heirs or assigns in Confirmation whereof they the said
Charles John and Christopher hath set their hands & affixed their seals
the day and year first above Written
Memorandum that on the day and year within written Livery of seisen was given by the within named Charles Lynch John Lynch & Christopher Lynch to the within Named Adam Clements Quiet and peaceably to possess the within lands & premises according to this Indenture
March 1770 Recieved of Adam Clements one hundred pounds money the consideration money for the within granted Land & c.
At a Court held for Bedford County March 27th 1770 This Indenture and Memorandum of Livery of Seisen hereon Endorsed were acknowledged by Charles Lynch & Christopher Lynch and Ann the wife of the said Christopher she having been first privily Examined according to Law Relinquished her Right of Dower in and to the Land & premises Conveyed by this Indenture and at a Court held for the said County July 24th 1770 the same were acknowledged by John Lynch and ordered to be Recorded
