Know all men
by these presents that I Thomas Clark of Bedford County Do bargain and sell
unto Stephen Clements of the same County two feather Beds and furniture
also seven Head of Neet Cattle which are on my Plantation under the Care
of William Mullikins two Pewter Dishes four Basons one Duzzin of Plates
also one white mare Branded this C M on the right shoulder also one white
Horse Branded thias 2 1 also washing Tub one Pale and two Piggins also one
side saddle and one mans saddle Also one Box Iron and two heaters also one
Table and one Churn also three Head of Sheep all which above mentioned Goods
and things do Thomas Clark Oblign himself to warrant and Defend Good Title
to against all persons whatsoever it Being consideration of the sum of Thirty
two pounds ten Shillings which the said Clark acknowledges himself in debt
to the said Stephen Clements and the above goods is as Security for the
Payment of the above Debt and Provided the said Clark Pays the above sum
of thrity two Pounds Ten Shillings on or before 25th December in the year
1770 then the said Stephen Clement Gives up all the above goods and if the
money is not Payed by the said 25th Day of December 1770 then the sd. Clements
is to sell the above mentioned things & Pay himself and the over Plust
to be Returned unto the said Thomas Clark in witness whereof the said Thomas
Clark hath hereunto set his hand and seal this 9th Day of July 1769
