This Indenture
made the fifteenth day of February anoye Domini one thousand seven Hundred
& Sixty Between John Abston of the County of Bedford of the one part
& Stephen Clements of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that
the said John Abston for & in Consideration of the sum of fifteen Pounds
ten Shillings Current Money by the said Stephen Clement to the said John
Abston in hand paid and before the Ensealing & Delivery of these presents
the Receipt whereof the said John Abston doth hereby acknowledge to the
said Stephen Clements his Heirs and Assigns thereof and therefore doth hereby
forever aquit Exonerate & Discharge hath granted bargain'd & sold
and by these Presents doth grant bargain Elien feof and Confirm unto the
said Stephen Clements his Heirs and Assigns forever all that Tract or Parcel
of Land Containing by Estimation fifty Acres be the same more or Less Situate
Lying & being in the County of Bedford and bounded as Followeth , to
wit, Begining at Pollards Corner Poplar on the West bank of the said River
thence along his Line North forty Eight Degrees West twenty four Poles to
a Red oake thence New lines South forty seven Degrees West Forty two Poles
to a Red oak South sixty five Degrees West eighty four Poles to a Pine South
seven Degrees West sixty five poles to a Red oake thence New Lines East
Crossing the said Otter River to a Hickory on the old Line thence along
the said Line twety three Poles to a small white oak North twenty three
Degrees West twelve Poles to a Small Dogwood North Twenty seven Degrees
East twenty two Poles to a maple on Otter River aforesaid and thence up
the same as it Meanders Crossing to the first Station together with all
and Singular the Houses Buildings Fences Orchards Woods Underwoods ways
waters Meadows Feedings and all Other Benefits and Advantages whatsoever
to the said Land belong or in any wise appertaing and all the Estate Right
Title Interest Use Property Reversion clame or Demand of the said John Abston
of in or to the same or any Part or Parcel thereof to have and to Hold the
said one Fifty acres Land be the same More or Less with all and every its
appertenances to the said Stephen Clements his Heirs and Assigns forever
to the only Proper Use and Behoof of him the said Stephen Clement his Heirs
and Assigns forever and to no Other use Interest or Purpose Whatsoever and
the said John Abston for himself and his Heirs do Covenant & agree to
and with the said Stephen Clement that the said John Abston shall and Will
Warrant and forever Defend the said Land and Premises Hereby Granted unto
the said Stephen Clement and his Heirs against the Clame or Demand of all
and every Person or Person or Persons Whatsoever and the said Stephen Clement
his Heirs and Assigns foever Hereafter freely Peaceably and Quietly Enter
into and apon have Whole use Occupy Possess and Enjoy the said Land &
Premises hereby Granted without the lawful Suit Let Troble Denial Molestation
or Disturblance of them the said John Abston He or his Heirs or Assigns
or any other Person or Persons Whatsoever and also that the said John Abston
shall & Will at any time Hereafter at the Request & Proper costs
& and Charge in the Law of him the said Stephen Clement his Heirs and
Assigns Make & Execute or Cause to be Made Executed such further or
other Lawfull and Reasonable Acts and Conveyances & Apurances Whatsoever
as shall be Adjudged nessesary for the Quiet Enjoyment of the above mentioned
Land and Premises to the said Stephen Clement his Heirs and Assigns forever
In Witness whereof the said John Abston have hereunto set his Hand &
Seal the Day & Year above written
Memorandum that on the within mentioned Day and year peaceable Possession of Livery & Syson was made by the within named John Abston to the within Stephen Clement to him and his Heirs forever In Witness whereof the said John Abston hs hereunto set his Hand and Seal the day & year first within Written
Received of Stephen Clement fifteen Pounds ten Shillings Current Money being the Consideration for the within Mentined Land Premises Witness my hand this fifteenth day of February Annoy Domine 1760 John Abston L.S.
At a Court held for Bedford County Feby. 25th 1760 This Indenture and Memorandum of Livery of Seizen & Receipt thereon Indorsed were acknowledged by the said Jno. Abston to be his Acts & Deeds & Ordered to be Recorded
