In the Name of God Amen
The Fifteenth day of March one thousand seven hundred Sixty four I Francis Clement of the County of Lunenburg Planter b[eing of] a Sound and perfect Memory of mind thanks be to Almig[hty God] The[refore] calling to mind the Mortallity of my body and Knowing that it [is appointed] for all men once to die, Do make and ordain this to be my last will & Testam[ent that] is to say and First I Give and Recommend my Soul into the hands of [Almigh]ty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to the Earth to be burie[d at] the Discretion of my Executors not Doubting but at the General Risurrection
the same by the Almighty Power of God, and as Touching my worldly E[state] wherewith it hath pleased almighty God to Bless me with in this Life I Give and De[vise] and Dispose of the same in the Following manner and form, Item, First [that] all my Just Debts be paid and what is due to me received or got in Item I lend to my Loving wife Elizabeth Clement two Negroes to wit, Frank & Siss and her choice of one of my beds and Furniture all the Stock I have a[t my] Death I Lend my wife the [ ] pewter and pots also my Chest of

And after her Death I Desire that it may be Equally Divided am[ong] my four Children William Stephen, Judith, & Mary Clement. Item my will and Desire is that the Remainder part of my Esta[te] that which I have not already Disposed of be Equally Divided am[ong] my four Children Before mentioned by three men such as the Co[urt] shall think proper to Choose upon oath, but will & Desire is that m[y] Estate should not be sold but Divided by those men without , when [my] son William Clement arrives to the age of Twenty one years, When I [ ] my two sons shall Inherit their Estate and my two Daughters to In[herit] theirs at the age of Eighteen Years. Further my will and Desire is that neither of my sons possess their Estate before they arrive to the age of Twenty one years also [I will] and Desire th[at if] Either of my four Children before mentioned should die without Leaving [ ] Living heir Lawfully begotten of their body that their Estate shoud be [Equally] Divided among those that are Living. Item I Impower my Executors [ ] purchase a piece of Land Such as they shall think proper which I lend [to my] Loving wife Elizabeth Clement during her widowhood and afterwards to my two Sons William & Stephen Clement to be Equally Divided betw[een them] when they arrive to the age of Twenty one Years. Item my Will and Desire is tha[t my] Estate should not be Appraised. Item I Constitute my Nephew John [? and] [my b]rother in Law Josiah Cox my whole & Sole Excutors of this my L[ast Will] and Testament and I do hereby Disanul Revoke and make Void all other for[ms] Wills and Testaments Legacies and Bequists by me any ways before name[d] Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my Last will & Testament [In] Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day & year Before [written]

Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Phillip X Bonds, John [Anglen] John Bonds, Charles Allen, Edward Morely & Christo. Loving.

At a Court held for Charlotte County the Seventh day of July 1769.
The within written Last Will & Testemant of Francis Clement Decd. was Exh[ibited] in Court and the same was proved by the oaths of John Anglen a witness hereto and the same was ordered to be Recorded and the Executors appointed not appearing to take the Ex[ ] of the said will although duly summoned Therefore on the motion of Richard Burk[s ?] made oath according to Law administration of the said Estate with the will an[nexed ] Granted him to [remainder of this line and all remaining lines in the document are torn or cut off and are not legible].
