This Indenture
made the 20th day of Sept. Ano ye Domina One thousand seven hundred fifty
& Eight Francis Pollard of the County of Bedford and Bety his Wife of
the one Part and Stephen Clement of the County of Halilifax of the other
part Witnesseth that the said Francis Pollard and Bety his Wife for and
in Consideration of the Sum of foreteen Pounds Curent Money by the said
Stephen Clement to the said Francis Pollard in hand paid at and before the
in sealing and delivery of these Presents the Recet whereof he the said
Francis Pollard doth hereby Acknowledge and the said Stephen Clement his
Heirs and Assigns thereof and there from doth herby for ever acquit Eonarate
and Dist charge hath granted Bargained and Sould and by these Presents doth
grant Bargain sell Elienfe off and Confirm unto the said Stephen Clement
his heirs and Assigns all that Tract or parcell of land Containing by Estamation
fore hundred and fore Acres be the same more or less Situate lying and being
in the County of Halifax and is bounded as followeth Beginning at George
Willcox Corner maple in the lowgrounds of the said Creek thence New line
South forty degrees East twenty seven Poles to Pointers in Andersons line
thence on his line South Sixty five degrees two Hundred and twenty Poles
to a pine thence New lines North Three Degrees West One Hundred and Seventy
Six Poles Crossing the Creek to Pointers in George Willcox line and thence
on George Willcox South forty degrees East one hundred and fifty two poles
Crossing the Creek to the first Station, Together with with all and Singular
the Houses Buldings fences Orchards woods Underwoods Ways Waters Meadows
Feedings and all other Benifits and Advantages whatsoever to the said land
Belonging or in any wise Apertaining and all the Estate Rite Title intrest
use Property Reversion Clame or demand of the said Francis Pollard and Bety
his Wife his wife of in or to the same or any Part or Parcell thereof To
have and To hold the said fore hundred and fore acres Land be the same more
or less with all and every its Appurtanance to the said Stephen Clement
his heirs and Assigns forever to the only Proper use and Behoof of him the
said Stephen Clement his heirs and Assigns for ever and to no other use
Intent or Purpose Whatsoever and the said Francis Pollard and Bety his Wife
for themselves and there heirs do Covanant and agree to and with the said
Stephen Clement that the said Francis Pollard and Bety his Wife shall and
will warrant and forever defend the said land and premises hereby granted
unto the said Stephen Clement his heirs against the Clame or Clames of all
and every Person or Persons Whatsoever and the said Stephen Clement his
heirs and Assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever
here after freely peaceably and Quietly Enter into and upon have hold use
Occupy Possess and injoy the said land and Primices hereby granted without
the Lawfull Lett Suit Trouble Denial Molestation or Disturbance of them
the said Francis Pollard and Bety his Wife their or Either of theire Heirs
or assigns or any other Person or Persons whatsoever and also that the said
Francis Pollard and Bety his Wife shall and will at any time hereafter at
the Request and Proper Cost and Charge in the law of him the said Stephen
Clement his heirs and assigns Make and Excute or Cause to be made and Executed
such further or other lawfull and Reasonable acts and conveyances and Assurances
whatsoever as shall be adjudged Necessary for the Quiet Enjoyment of the
above mentioned Granted Land and Premises to the said Stephen Clement his
heirs and Assigns forever In Witness whereof the said Francis Pollard and
Bety his Wife have hereunto sett there hand and seals the day and year first
above written. Sealed and
Memorandum That in the within Mensioned day and year Quiet and Peaceable Possission of Livery & Seison was mad by the within Named Francis Pollard to the within Named Stephen Clement to him and his heirs forever in Witness whereof he the said Francis Pollard hereunto his and and seal the day and year first within Mentioned
Recived of Stephen Clement foreteen pounds Current Money being the Consideration for the within Mentioned Land Premises Witness My Hand this 20th Day of September anno ye domina 1758
At a Court held for Halifax County the xith Day of March 1759 The within written Indenture was by the within named Francis Pollard and Betty his Wife Acknowledged to be their several Acts and Deed and the said Francis also Acknowledged the Memorandum of Livery of Seizen and Receipt herein indorsed / Previous to which the sd. Betty was privately Examined as the Law directs / Relinquished her Right of Dower in and to the land and Premises conveyed by the said Indenture all which were Ordered to be Recorded
