This Indenture made this Eighteenth Day of July one Thousand seven Hundred and Forty Eight Between Susannah Clemans of the County of Lunenburgh and Parrish of Cumberland of the one part and Thos. Satterwhite of the same County and Parrish of the other part Witnesseth that the said Susannah Clemans for and in Consideration of the sum of five pounds Currant money of Virginia to her in hand paid by the said Thos. Satterwhite the Receipt whereof she doth hereby Acknowledge hath Granted, Bargained, Sold, Aliened, Released, and Confirmed and by these presents for himself and his Heirs doth Grant, bargain, sel, alien, Release, and Confirm unto the said Thos. Satterwhite and to his Heirs and Assigns for ever a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land Containing fifty Acres be the same more of less Situate in the County and Parrish above Rittin and on the North side of Roaneoke River and bounded by the Roade and Easters line left to her by will of her father, Together with all houses, Gardens, fences, Woods, Underwoods, Waters, and Water cources, thereon Standing, Growing, and being with all Profits, Commodities, Advantages, and appurtenances Whatsoever to the same belonging or in any Wise appertaining and also the Reversion & Reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof and of every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the said fifty Acres as above bounded be the Same more or less within the lines above mentioned with there and every of their appurtenances unto the said Thos. Satterwhite his Heirs and Assigns to the only use of the said Thos. Satterwhite his Heirs and assigns for ever and She the said Susannah Clemans for herself and her Heirs doth Covenant Grant and agree to and with the said Thos. Satterwhite his Heirs and Assigns that he and they shall and may at all times hereafter Peaceably and Quietly hold and Enjoy the said Granted Land and premises free and Clear form all former Sailes, Gifts, Grants, Mortgages, Rights of Dower or any other Incumbrances Whatsoever and She the Said Susannah Clemans and her Heirs Shall and will Warrant and for ever Defend the said Granted Land and premises with the Appurtenances unto the said Thos. Satterwhite his Heirs and assigns against all and every other Person or Persons that shall lay any Claim thereunto and futher that She the said Susannah Clemans and her Heirs Shall and will at any time within the space of ?? Years at the Costs and Charges of him the said Thos. Satterwhite his Heirs and Assigns make do and Execute all such further act or Deed for the better Conveying the said Granted Land and Premises as he the said Thos. Satterwhite his Heirs Assigns Shall advise or Require In witness whereof the Parties to these presents their hands and Seals interchangebly hath set the Day and year first above Written.

Memorandom That on the Eighteenth Day of July one Thousand seven Hundred and forty Eight Quiet and peaceable possesson and Seizen of the within Granted Land and premises was made done and Delivered by the within named Susannah Clemans to the aforenamed Thos. Satterwhite according to form and Effect of the within Written Deed.
