This Indenture made this 21st of February in the year 1814 between Alexander Clement, George W. Clement & his wife Stella of the one part and Charles Clement of the other part Witnesseth that the said Alexander Clement George W. Clement & his wife Stella for & in consideration of the sum of two thousand pounds, the receipt whereof they hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto Charles Clement & his heirs forever two parcels or tracts of land being in the County of Pittsylvania containing one thousand eight acres be the same more or less and being the two tracts of land conveyed to George W. Clement & Alexander Clement by Adam Clement who is now deceased first tract bounded as follows Beginning a Spanish Oak on the south side of Staunton river thence running on the lines of Benjamin Clements old patterns So. 50 W 20 po to a red oak So. 113 W 28 po to a pine S. 86 W 212 po to a pine S 71 W 40 po to a pine S. 20 W 381 28 po to a white oak S. 20 W. 63 po crossing a branch of the road to pointers in the said line, thence along Joshua Abstons lines N. 84 W 248 po to a white oak in the line of the said Clements old pattern again thence the same S. 47 W. 12 po to a white oak N. 35 W. 26 po to a red oak N. 9 E. 80 po to a pine E. 10 poles to a red oak N.1 E. 60 po to Hallaways corner pine, thence on his line N. 10 W 38 po to a Hickory on Sycamore Creek thence down the said creek as it meanders To Ralph Smiths corner on the said creek thence on his line N 35 E 74 po to a white oak in the aforesaid B. Clements old line thence the same N. 33 E.22 po to a Hackbery tree on the river aforesaid opposite the end of Persimmon Island thence down the said river as it menanders to the Beginning,, also one other tract of land lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania containing six hundred and thirty acres be the same mor or less and bounded as followeth Viz. Beginning at Richd. Thurmans corner pine thence his lines N 8.5 E100 po to a pine, N 69 E102 po crossing a branch to a pine S 33 E 128 po to a red oak on Painters branch & down the same as it meanders to pointers on Thurmans old line, thence along the same N63 E 24 po crossing reed creek to a pine thence new lines N. 30 W68 po to a pine N. 71 W. 10 po crossing a creek to pointers in Adams line thence his lines S. 86 W 37 po to a red oak N. 1 E. 40 po to a pine N. 415 W. 60 po crossing long branch to a pine thence new lines Forever. Witness we set our hands and seals this day and year above written. George
W. Clement (seal) At a Court held for Pittsylvania County the 21st day of February 1814 This Indenture was presented in Court and acknowledged by George W. Clement & Alexander Clement, parties thereto to be their acts and Deed. And the within named Stella J. Clement wife of the said George W. Clement after being Prively examined as the law directs, came into court and relinquished her right of dower in and to the land conveyed by the said Indenture which are ordered to be recorded.
