  This Indenture made this Twenty first Day of December one thousand eight hundred and one Between John of the County of Pittsylvania of the one part and Vachel Clements of the same County of the other part Witness that John Roberts for and in Consideration of the sum of Fifty Pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Vachel Clement the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath Granted Bargained and Sold unto the said Vachel Clement Seventy five acres of Land including the Plantation whereon he now lives on the Branches of Banister River Beginning at the said Clements corner Pine of his River Tract in Joseph Mays's former line and thence along the same South Twenty one degrees East eighty poles to pointers thence a new line South eighty five Degrees West two hundred and twenty four poles Crossing a branch to pointers in James Farmer Line and along the same North fifty degrees East ninety four poles to pointers thence along the Lines of the said Clements River Tract South sixty degrees East 16 poles to a Hickory North forty degrees East fifty six poles to a White oak and red oak thence North eighty five degrees East sixt six poles crossing a branch to the Beginning with all its Apurtenances to have and to hold the said Land and Premises with all its apurtenances unto the said Vachel Clement to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Vachel Clement his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Roberts for himself his heirs Exors. and Administrators doth oblige themselves by Virtue of these presents to warrant and defend the right to the above sold Land in fee simple clear of all incumbrances whatsoever and to the said Vachel Clements his heirs & assigns forever against the Lawful clame or demand of any person or persons whatsoever In Witness whereof the said John Roberts hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and year first above Written

Memorandum that on the Day of the date of the within Written Deed Livery of Seizen was Granted by the within named John Roberts to the within named Vachel Clements according to full meaning and intent of the within Written Indenture

This Indenture together with the Memorandum hereon indorsed were acknowledged by the above named John Roberts to be his several acts and Deeds Ordered that the same be recorded
