  This Indenter made this Sixth Day of December in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Between Joshua Abston of the County of Pittsylvania of the one part and William Evins of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Joshua Abston for and in Consideration of Six thousand pounds Current money of Virginia to him in Hand paid by the Said William Evins the receipt of which the Said Joshua Abston doth Hereby Acknowledge Hath given granted bargained and Sold and by these Presents doth give grant bargain Sell and deliver and Confirm to him the Said William Evins his Heirs and assigns for ever one Certain Tract or Parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania Containing two Hundred and Sixty acres on the Branches of Sycamore Creek and bounded as follows, to wit, Begining at Said Abstons Corner pine thence on his line South Eighty Degrees East thirty eight poles to Pointers thence new line South Sixty three Degrees West one Hundred and eighty Eight poles crossing two Branches to a Hickory North Eighteen Degrees West Sixty poles to Pointers North forty four Degrees West forty Six poles to a poost Oak North forty three Degrees East three Hundred and four poles to Pointers in Holonds line thence on his line South twenty Seven Degrees East twelve poles to a pine North eighty seven Degrees East twenty Six poles to Pointers in the Said Abstons line and thence on the Same South One Hundred and Sixty four poles to the Begining reference thereto being had will at large appear together with all and singular the Priviliges and Appurtanances thereto Belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the above Sold Land and Premises with all the appurtenances unto the Said William Evins his Heirs and assigns forever to the only use and be behoof of him the Said William Evins his Heirs and Assigns forever against him tht Said Joshua Abston his heirs or assigns and against the claim and demand of all other persons whatsoever Shall and will by these presents warrant and forever will Defend In Witness whereof the Said Joshua Abston hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal the Day and year above Written

Memorandom that on the Day and year first within mentioned Quiet and Peacable Possession of the within mentioned Land and Premises was given and made by Joshua Abston to William Evins in presents of the Subscribing

The within Indenture together with the memorandom of Livery and Seizin and receipt hereon Indorsed was Acknowledged by the within Named Joshua Abston to be his Several Acts and Deed and the same was Ordered to be Recorded by the Court
