  This Indenture made this ninteenth Day of April fifth year of our Common Wealth & in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty one Between Jesse Roberson of Pittsylvania County of the one part & Hezekiah Pigg of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jesse Roberson for & in consideration of one thousand pounds Current Money of Virginia paid by the said Hezekiah Pigg before the Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof doth hereby Acknowledge himself Satisfied contented & Paid & in consequence of which the said Jesse Roberson hath granted bargained & Sold & by these Presents doth Confirm unto Hezekiah Pigg his Heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land by Estimation containing one hundred Acres Situate lying & being in the County aforesaid & on both sides of Ban[darkened area] River & Bounded as follows Viz. Beginning at the River the Line that Divides Between John Pigg & Jesse Roberson thence running to the Back line thence along the Back line eighty three Degrees West to a White Oak thence South Seventy five Degrees West to the River thence Down the River including a Certain Peace of Land the said Roberson had for himself when he Sold Hezekiah Pigg the other two hundred Acres of the same Tract which Land is the two hundred acres that was Convaied from John Pigg to said Jesse Roberson I say including the whole of that Land runing down the River to the beginning. With all its profits Commodities & whatsoever in any wise appertaining to the said Land To have & to hold unto the said Hezekiah Pigg his Heirs & Assigns forever & the said Jesse Roberson doth Oblige himself by these presents to warrant & forever Defend unto the said Hezekiah Pigg a clear and Absolute Right & Title to the said Land from him his Heirs & all other Persons laying a Claim thereto as their Legal Right as Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & Seal the Day & year above mentioned

Memorandum that on the Day of the date within mentioned Quiet & Peacable Possession of the livery Seizen of the within Land & premises was made and Delivered by the said Jesse Roberson to the said Hezekiah Pigg in Presence of us Witnesses

At a Court held for Pittsylvania County the 21st Day of August 1781 the within Indenture together with the memorandum of Livery & Seizen was Acknowledged by the within named Jesse Roberson to be his Acts & Deed & Elizabeth his wife being privily Examined as the Law Directs Relinquished her Right of Dower in & to the withn granted Land & Premises all which was ordered to be Recorded by the Court
