  This Indenture Made this 4th day of April in the year of our lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & Eighty Six Between Jesse Robinson & Elizabeth his Wife of the County of Pittsylvania of the one part and Jesse Duncan of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jesse Robinson for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred & fifty pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Jesse Duncan at or Before the Sealing & Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they the said Jesse Robinson & Elizabeth his Wife Hath Granted Bargained and sold Aliened released and Confirmed and by these presents Doth grant Bargain sell Alien release & Confirm unto the said Jesse Duncan his heirs & assigns forever one Certain tract or parcel of land Situate Lying & being in the County of Pittsylvania on both sides of Strawbery Creek containing by Estimation Two hundred & fifty two acres be the same more or less & bounded as followeth, To Wit, Beginning at a White Oak Saplin in Thomas Hargetts Line thence New lines North Eighty four Degrees East forty three poles Crossing a Branch to a Small White Oak South Seventy one Degrees East one hundred and two poles Crossing a branch to a White Oak North forty two Degrees East one hundred & Eighty Eight poles Crossing three Branches of Strawbery Creek North Twenty Six Degrees West Seventy eight poles to a red oak North fifty Eight Degrees West Seventy Six poles Crossing Strawberry Creek to a shrub White Oak South fifty six Degrees West two hundred & fifty four poles to a red Oak South twenty Eight Degrees East thirty poles to a White Oak in Thomas Hargets line thence along the said line South fifty three Degrees East fifty one poles to his Corner White Oak on the Creek & thence along the said line south forty Degrees West forty poles Crossing the Creek to the Beginning and also all Houses Gardens Orchards Woods Ways Waters Watercourses profits Commodities Hereditaments & Appertenances Whatsoever To the said Tract or parcel of Land belonging or in any wise appertaining and also all the Estate right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand Whatsoever of him the said Jesse Robinson of in and to the said Tract or parcel of Land and premises with the appurtenances & every part thereof & also the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues & profits thereof To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land and Premises and every part thereof with the Appertenances unto the said Jesse Duncan his heirs and assigns forever & the said Jesse Robinson for himself and his Heirs the said Tract or parcel of Parcel of Land and Premises with the appertenances unto the said Jesse Duncan his heirs & assigns against him the said Jesse Robinson his heirs & assigns and against all and every other person or persons Whatsoever Shall and will Warrant and forever Defend by these presents In Witness Whereof the sd. Jesse Robinson & Elizabeth his Wife have hereunto Set there hands & seals the day & year above Written
