This Indenture
made this Twenty fourth day of February one thousand seven hundred and seventy
four Between Jesse Robertson of Pittsylvania County of the one part and
Hezekiah Pigg of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that
the said Jesse Robertson for and in Consideration of the Sum of Seventy
Pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Hezekiah
Pigg doth hereby acknowledge he the said Jesse Robertson hath Granted Bargained
& Sold and by these presents doth Confirm unto the said Hezekiah Pigg
his Heirs and assigns forever one Certain piece of Land lying in the County
aforesaid on the South Side of Banister River containing by Estimation one
hundred acres be the same more or less and Bounded as followeth Beginning
at a Corner White oak on the said Robertsons line thence along the said
line North to the River thence up the said River as it meanders to a Popular
on the said River thence South along his new line to a Corner beach thence
west to a Corner white oak thence to a corner beach on the said thence up
the said River as it meanders to Wallers line thence south to a corner of
Pointers thence south Sixty eight degrees East to a Corner thence to John
Pigs line on the said River thence along the said line to the Beginning
with all its appurtenances or Commodities appurtaining to the said Land
To have and to hold unto the said Hezekiah Pigg his Heirs and assigns forever
and the said Jesse Robertson doth oblige himself by these Presents to Warrant
unto the said Hezekiah Pigg a Clear and absolute Right and Title to the
said Land from him his Heirs and all other persons laying a Claim thereunto
as their legal Property In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand &
Seal the Day & year above mentioned
Memorandum That on the day of the date within mentioned Quiet and peacable Possession of Livery & Seizen of the within mentioned Lands and Premises was made and delivered by the said Jesse Robertson to the said Hezekiah Pigg in Presence of
At a Court held for Pittsylvania County the 24th day of February 1774 This Indenture together with the Memorandum of Livery & Seizen and Memorandum hereon Indorsed was proved by the oaths of three of the witnesses thereto to be the Several acts and Deed of the within named Jesse Robinson and the same was ordered to be Recorded By the Court
