This Indenture made the 9th day of May in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight between Benjamin T. Clement of the county of Pittsylvania of the first part and Stephen F. Clement of the same county of the second part. Witnesseth that the said Benjamin T. Clement for and in consideration of the sum of two thousand dollars to him dully paid before the delivery hereof hath bagained and sold and by these presents doth grant and convey to the said Stephen F. Clement his heirs and assigns forever all of my interest willed to me by my decd. Father both real and personal together with one hours.  And the said Benjamin T. Clement doth hereby covenant and agree with the said Stephen F. Clement that at the time of the delivery hereof the said Benjamin T. Clement is the lawful owner of an interest in the estate of the late George W. Clement and that he will warrant and defend the Interest hereby granted in the quiet and peacable possession of the said Stephen F. Clement his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 9th day of May in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight.

State of Virginia County of Pittsylvania to wit.
I F. C. Hubbard a justice of the peace for the county aforesaid in the State of Virginia do certify that Benjamin T. Clement whose name is signed to the writting within bearing date on the 9 day of May 1868 has acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid. Given under my hand this 9th day of May 1868.

In the Clerks Office of the county court of Pittsylvania County on the 11th day of May 1868. The foregoing writing was admitted to record upon the certificate of its acknowledgment thereto annexed
