This Indenture
made this 18th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and fifteen between James Clement
and Patsy his wife of the County of Barren and State of Kentucky of one
part and Francis Jackson of Shelby County and State aforsd. of the other
part Witnesseth that the said James
Clement and Patsy his wife for and in Consideration of Two thousand
one hundred and thirty four Dollars to them in hand paid at or before the
execution of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby Ack.d we do covenant
Bargain and Sell unto the said Francis Jackson his heirs or assigns forever
a certain tract or parcel of Land Containing two hundred and forty two and
a half acres of Land Situate lying and being in the County of Shelby and
on wolf run a Branch of Brashears Creek part of John Mays 2200 acre Survey
and bounded as follows to wit Begining at two beeches corner to John Overstreet
thence S. 78. W. 188 poles to three small Sugar trees corner to Isham
Clement thence S. 62. E 82 poles to three beeches Corner also to said
Clement thence S. 28 W. 28 poles
to a Beech, water beech and sugar tree thence with John Sanders line S 56
E. 72 poles to a white Ash and Sugartree then S 20 poles to a bech and read
oak in Jacob Yoders line thence N 28 e. 52 poles to a black oak Black ash
and sugartree thence N 58. E. 78 poles to a black ash and two Sugartrees
thence N. 35 E. 159 poles to a sugar tree honey Locust and Mulberry in wolf
run thence N 48 W. 64 poles to a white oak and Locust Corner to John Overstreet
Thence S. 7 W. 24 poles to a white oak and sugar tree thence S 88 W. 110
poles to the Begining To have and To hold the said tract or parcel of land
with all the Appertinances unto the said Francis Jackson his heirs and assigns
to their only proper use benefit and behoof forever. And the said James
Clement and his wife Patsy doth Covenant promise and agree to and with
the said Francis Jackson his heirs Executors admrs. and assigns that they
the said James Clement and Patsy
his wife will and their heirs Executors and admrs. shall warrant and forever
defend the said tract or parcel of Land with all the appertenances unto
the said Francis Jackson his heirs Executors administrators and assigns
against all and every person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or
to claim the same two hundred and forty two and a half acres In Witness
whereof the said James Clement
and Patsy his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year
above written
State of Kentucky Barren County Sct I John W. Davis Dept. clk to the County Court for the aforsaid County being duly authorized to take and review the acknowledgement and proof of and admit to record in my office deeds and other writings do hereby certify that the within deed from James Clement and Patsy his wife to Francis Jackson was this day duly ackn.d before me by the said Clement and wife to be their act and deed she the said Patsy being by me examined privately and apart from her said husband relinquished her right of Dower in the land and premises in the said Indenture specified agreeable to law In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name this 18th day of March 1818
Shelby Count Sct. 22nd August 1815 This Indenture of Bargain and sale was this day produced to me in my office with the Certificate of ackn.d thereon endorsed and thereupon the same was admitted to record
