This Indenture made this thirty first day of December in the year of our lord One thousand eight hundred and two between Adam Shepherd of Bullitt County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Isham Clement of the other part Witnesseth, that the said Adam Shepherd for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid at or before the execution of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged I do covenant bargain and sell unto the said Isham Clement his heirs or assigns forever a certain tract or Parcel of land Containing seventy five acres situate lying and being in Shelby County and State aforesaid on the waters of Elk creek part of Adam Shepherds eighteen hundred acre Survey and bounded as follows, To wit, Beginning on John Clevelands line North 65 W 120 poles corner on three beeches running thence passing David Reeds N.E. corner S 27 1/2 W 110 poles corner on 2 beeches and buckey thence S 65 E 80 poles corner on Joshua Brook line on 3 Sugartrees, thence with the same North 27 1/2 E 110 poles to the Beginning so as to contain the quantity of said tract of land To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all the appertenances thereunto belonging to the said Isham Clement his heirs & to his only proper benefit and behoof forever and the said Adam Shepherd doth covenant and agree to and with the said Isham Clement his Ex. Admrs. and assigns that he the said Adam Shepherd will and his heirs Ex. Admrs and assigns from himself and his heirs and all persons whatever through or by him Adam Shepherd by any contract made previous to this date I the said Adam Shepherd doth further oblige myself my heirs Ex. Admrs that if the said land and premises should be taken by any claim or right I will refund the purchase beef and Pork unto him the said Isham Clement. In Witness whereof I the said Adam Shepherd have hereunto set my hand and affix'd my seal this day and date above mentioned.

This Indenture was this day produced to me in my Office and proved to be the act and deed of the within named Adam Shepherd by the oath of James Clement one of the Witnesses thereto. And on the 15th day of April the same year this Indenture was fully proved to be the act and deed of the within named Adam Shepherd by the oath of Elisha R. Whitaker another witness thereto and admitted to record.
