& c To all & c Know ye that for divers good Causes & Considerations
but more Especially for & in Consideration of the Sum of Ten shillings
of good & Lawful Money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our
Revenues in this our Colony & Dominion of Virginia We have given granted
& Confirmed & by these Presents for us our Heirs & Successors
Do give Grant & Confirm unto Benjamin
Clement one Certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing six hundred &
six Acres lying & being in the County of Pittsylvania on the South side
Stanton River & both sided Sycamore Creek & bounded as followeth,
to wit, Beginning at a white oak & thence South thirty three degrees
West seventy four Poles to a white Oak South one Degree East eighty poles
to a spanish Oak on the Creek & thence up the same as it Meanders to
an Ash & thence up the same as it Meanders to Holloways Corner Hickory
& thence on his Line South Ten degrees East thirty eight Poles to a
pine & thence new Lines South seven Degrees West sixty Poles to a red
Oak West Ten poles to a Pine South nine Degrees West eighty two Poles to
a red oak South thirty five Degrees East twenty six poles to Pointers in
the old Line and thence on the said Lines south forty seven degrees West
forty Poles to a white Oak South seventy one degrees East two hundred &
twenty two Poles to Pointers North thirty degrees East eighty six Poles
to pointers North seventy degrees East thirty eight Poles to a pine North
seventy one degrees East Forty poles to a Pine & thence new Lines North
eighty six degrees East Forty one poles to a Pine North forty three Degrees
East seventy eight poles crossing a branch to a red oak North fifty degrees
East twenty Poles to a Spanish Oak on the River & thence up the same
as it Meanders to the Beginning five hundred and Twenty
nine acres part thereof being formerly Granted unto the said Clement by
Letters Patent bearing date the tenth day of September one thousand seven
hundred & fifty five and seventy seven acres the residue neverbefore
granted With all & c. To have hold & c. To be held & c. Yielding
and pay & c. Provided & c. In Witness & c. Witness our trusty
& welbeloved John Earl of Dunmore our Lieutenant & Governor General
of our said Colony & Dominion at Williamsburg under the seal of our
said Colony the twentieth day of June one thousand seven hundred & seventy
two In the twelfth year of our Reign
