George the Second & c. To all & c. Know ye that for divers good causes & considerations but more especially for & in Consideration of the sum of Forty Shillings of good Lawful money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our colony and Dominion of Virginia We have Given Granted & confirmed & by these Presents for us our Heirs & Successors Do Give Grant & confirm unto Benjamin Clement one certain tract or parcel of Land containing Five hundred & Twenty nine Acres lying & being in the county of Lunenburgh on the South side of Stanton River and on both sides Sycamore Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a Hiccory on the River and running thence on the lines of the old patent South eighteen degrees West thirty eight poles to a pine South seventy one degrees West forty poles to a pine South twenty degrees West thirty eight poles to a white oak thence new lines South thirty degrees West crossing a branch one hundred & sixty poles to a pine South sixty eight poles to a pine South fifty five degrees West one hundred & thirty six poles to a pine North sixty degrees West sixty six poles to a pine North ten degrees West two hundred & twenty poles to a white oak North forty seven degrees East two hundred & twenty six poles to a Spanish oak on the South side Sycamore creek thence up the creek as it meanders to an Ash on the North side the creek thence on the lines of the said Patent North one degree West eighty poles to a white oak & North

thereof being formerly granted unto the said Benjamin Clement by our Letters Patent bearing date the twentieth day of August one thousand Seven hundred forty one and four hundred Acres the Residue never before granted With all & c. To have hold & c To be held & c. Yielding and Paying & c. Provided & c. In Witness & c. Witness our trusty and welbeloved Robert Dinwiddie Esquire our Lieutenant Governor and Commander in chief of our said Colony and Dominion at Williamsburgh Under the Seal of our said Colony the tenth day of September one thousand seven hundred and fifty five in the twenty ninth Year of our Reign
