George the Second
& c. To all & c. Know ye that for divers good Causes & Considerations
but more especially for and in Consideration of the Sum of forty Shillings
of good and lawful Money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our
Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion of Virginia We have Given Granted
& Confirmed and by these Presents for us our Heirs and Successors Do
Give Grant & Confirm unto Benjamin
Clements one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing Four hundred
and four Acres lying & being in the County of Lunenburgh on both sides
of Strait Stone Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit Beginning at Pollards
Corner Pointers thence new lines North three degrees West Seventy three
Poles to a red oak North thirty degrees East one hundred & twenty Poles
to a Pine North forty degrees West two hundred Poles to Pointers South thirty
five degrees West two hundred and twenty Poles crossing two Branches to
Pointers South forty Degrees East eighty Poles to a red oak South twenty
degrees East one hundred & forty six Poles to a Pine South sixty degrees
East one hundred and twenty Poles to a Pine in Pollards line and thence
on his lines North three degrees West one hundred and twelve Poles crossing
the Creek to the first Station. With all & c. To have hold & c.
To be held & c. Yielding and Paying & c. Provided & c. In Witness
& c. Witness our Trusty and welbeloved Robert Dinwiddie Esquire our
Lieutenant Governor and Commander in chief of our Colony and Dominion at
Williamsburgh Under the Seal of our said Colony the sixteenth Day of August
One thousand Seven hundred and fifty six In the thirtieth Year of our Reign
