  George the Third & c. To all & c. Know ye that for divers good causes and considerations but more especially for and in consideration of the sum of Four pounds of good and Lawful money for our use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our colony and Dominion of Virginia We have given granted and confirmed and by these presents for us our heirs & successors Do give grant and confirm unto Thomas Dillard junr. and Isaac Clement one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing seven hundred and eighty three Acres lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania on both sides of both forks of Sycamore Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Beginning at a pine corner the North fork thence new lines South sixty two degrees West two hundred and fifty two poles to pointers on a ridge crossing two Branches south seventy eight degrees West two hundred and eighty two poles crossing a branch to a pine South forty four degrees West one hundred and fifty two poles crossing a bold Branch to a pine South twenty six degrees East fifteen poles to Talbot's & Tinkton's corner white oak thence the same course continued forty five poles to pointers North seventy five degrees East four hundred and eighty poles crossing four Branches to a pine North sixty two degrees East one hundred and forty poles to a pine South forty five degrees East two hundred and twelve poles crossing two Branches to a red oak South twenty degrees East one hundred poles to a red oak South seventy degrees East sixty poles crossing the South fork to a pine North ten degrees West eighty poles to a small pine North twenty five degrees East eighty poles crossing a branch just above its forks to a white oak North forty five degrees East thirty poles to pointers North twenty degrees East sixty six poles crossing Sycamore Creek just below the forks to a pine and thence North sixty seven degrees West one hundred and eight poles to the beginning. With all & c. To have hold & c. To be held & c. Yielding & Paying & c. Provided & c. In Witness & c. Witness our Trusty and welbeloved Norborne Baron de Botetourt our Lieutenant and Governor General of our said Colony and Dominion at Williamsburg under the seal of our said Colony the fourteenth day of July one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine In the ninth year of our Reign.

[Note: Pittsylvania County, VA, Deed Book 5, pages 227-229 records that Thomas DILLARD Jr. and Isaac CLEMENT subsequently sold 250 acres part of the land they acquired by the above patent to James CALLAWAY on 30 Jul 1779.
