Hattie Donaker, 1935
Hattie M. Stackhouse was born circa 9 April 1859 in Iowa, USA.2 She was the daughter of David Stackhouse and Amelia Hales.1 Her name has also been given as Isadora A. Stackhouse.3 Hattie, age 1, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1860 Federal Census for the Millersburg Post Office in English Township, Iowa County, Iowa, USA. She is enumerated as I.A.4 Follow the link to see the census image. Hattie, age 11, was enumerated in the household of Mrs. Margaret (Hales) Wickard on the 1870 Federal Census in English Township, Iowa County, Iowa, USA. Her name is given as Isadora Wickard. If this is Hattie, Margaret is her aunt.5 Follow the link to see the census image.
Hattie married William Edgar Donaker, son of Jacob E. Donaker and Margaret Catherine Hardesty, circa 1872.3 He was also known as Ed.6 If these dates are correct, Hattie was 13 when she married. Hattie and Ed had 2 children. These children are Glenn Wickard and Golda.7 They are also suspected of being the parents of an infant daughter buried in Donaker plot. The child was born 8 Oct 1896 and died 10 Oct 1896.
William, age 25, and Hattie, age 21, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Millersburg, Iowa County, Iowa, USA. Also enumerated in this household was their child, Glen (age 4). His name was given as Glenola W.8 Follow the link to see the census image. Circa 1887, Hattie and William moved to Rockwell, Calhoun County, Iowa, USA.9

Also enumerated in this household were his aunt-in-law, Mrs. Margaret (Hales) Wickard (widowed, age 78) and their daughter, Golda (age illegible - she is about 15 years old).10 Follow the link to see the census image.
Ed, age 55, and Hattie, age 53, were enumerated on the 1910 Federal Census in Jolley. He was enumerated as William E. They own their house without a mortgage. Their son, Glenn, lives next door with his wife, Mae.7 Follow the link to see the census image. See a picture of Hattie Donaker with her grandchildren taken about 1918.

Ed died on 13 February 1920, leaving Hattie a widow.12 This is a picture of Hattie with her children. I think it was taken around 1925. Hattie, age 71, was enumerated in the household of Golda and Charles Lloyd Taylor (her daughter and son-in-law) on the 1930 Federal Census in Butler Township, Calhoun County, Iowa, USA.13 Hattie's 91st birthday celebration was written up in the local newspaper.
