Roswell Carpenter of Mendon Monroe County and Edna his wife and Oliver M Tomlinson of the City and County of Albany and Ann his wife of the first part, and Burton M Roberts & Hiram Roberts, of the Town of Perinton County of Monroe of the second part, witnesseth, That the parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of one Hundred dollars duly paid to , have sold, and By these Presents, do grant and convey to the said parties of the second part the heirs and assigns, All That tract or parcel of land situate in the Town of Perinton County of Monroe bounded as follows being a part of Lot No. 53 and known on village plan at Fullams Basin as Village Lot No 4 on Canal Street beginning four rods.........(further proof that Burton and Hiram were brothers)

Roxanna Roberts, wife of Lewis Hulbert indicated in 1865 that she was born in Alleghany Co. and gave her age as 46.
In the 1875 census, Roxana Roberts Hulbert indicated she was born in Cattaraugus Co., NY her age was 55 . Her sister Samantha was also living there aged 58 and gave her birthplace as Cattaragus Co. This is right next to Allegheny Co but the Cattaraugus County historian had no record of the Joram Roberts family.

The original Bounty Land admitted was No. 42,421 for 80 acres applied for with the signaturee of Ira Bellows in Pittsford, NY 15 April 1852.
In 1854, No. 139630 was filed in Rochester by attorney Philander M. Crandall, seeking additional Bounty Land for Joram Roberts.
In 1859 affadavits are produced by witness to the disabilities incurred during the War of 1812.
Claim # 27,412 for additional Bounty Land filed by Joram Roberts, Musician. H.S.I.- Index - Vol. 2, page 345 states that Joram /Jorum Roberts served in Captain Armstrongs Co. 23 Infantry during the War of 1812. That he enlisted at Auburn, NY on January 8, 1813 for 18 mos, served to the 7th August 1814 and was honorably discharged.
The papers further state that Joram Roberts received a gun shot wound in the head while engaged in the battle on the 24th June 1813near or at a place called "Beaver Dam" in Canada. He was taken prisoner and carried to Quebec, then to Halifax and exchanged in the spring of 1814, when he returned to the service and served in Captain Odell's Company in the 23rd Regiment.The surgeons certify the wound to be a fracture of the right parital boneat its superior posterior angle, producing nervousnys, vertigo, dimness of vision, ringing in the ears, partial loss of memory and hearing, wearinys and lasitude, all of which are greatly increasin by exercise and age,and that he is in their opinion wholly disabled from obtaining his subsistince by manual labor by reason thereof. The evidence being deemed satisfactory and the rules complied with, the case is admitted. The pension to begin from 26th January 1860, at the rate of $8. per month. Signed by Examiner at Auburn New York, March 8, 1860. This claim to be paid from the Canandaigua office.
