Holiday Letter from Maynard
Christmas, 2002
Hi Ya'll,
First of all before I forget---"Merry Christmas" from the Tidmores! My memory's good but it's short.
I've noticed in a lot of the Christmas letters we've received the words "hospital" or "hospitalized" pertaining to you or loved ones. I can relate to that after being in the hospital 3 times this year for a lung disease I have been experiencing. In fact, the hospital is where I'm writing this letter so it will probably be late this year. Before I go on, we do hope that you and/or your loved ones who have been hospitalized are better now.
Let me relate to you some of my hospital experiences. I'm 6' 7"; and when I have to lay down in a hospital bed, my feet hang off the end so I end up with rickets to add to my problems. During this hospital stay, after I checked in and lay down, the nurse came in and her first words were "I need to grab your vitals." I knew then that it might be a rough stay!
I'm used to "Direct TV" with 10 movie channels, ESPN, etc. Well I went into a manic depression! I mean I had 4 local channels and PBS !! I couldn't handle it. The hospital had to call in their TV depression people and give me TV depression medicine until I finally calmed down. And get this...no VCR !!! I mean some things are worse than diseases. Other than that, I'm fine! .....more to come

I went to the funeral in Tolleson on Friday! It was good to see Denny and his family and all the Phares family! They took up half of the right side of the Church! James GREEN gave an exceptionally good message about Jewel. It was good to see Jackie and Shirley JONES CAUDLE. Jackie mentioned he sees Calvin Frank ASKREN every week now! Carroll and Lorna BROGDON were there too! We always talk about our NEXT reunion! i am Still kicking around! With Love, Jeanette

Patricia Lee Donahue, 57, of Tolleson Arizona died August 24, 200l at the home of her daughter Pam.
"Pat" Dewitt was born April 9, 1943 in Phoenix, Arizona. She attended Tolleson Union High School
until her marriage to Tom Donahue who preceded her in death in 1996.
They are the parents of Pam, "Shorty" and Darrel, all former TUHS students.
And Raised Tim, Pat was considered "Mom" to many others.
Photo is Pat and Sylvia Mortensen at our last Class Reunion Oct 1998 in the TUHS Gym.

Terry D. Hall, 61, of Swink Oklahoma died Aug. 19, 2001.
Terry was born Feb. 20, 1940 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He moved to Tolleson in 1949 where he attended
school and was a 1958 graduate of Tolleson Union High School and then served in the Air Force.
His wife of 34 years, Jane; two brothers; Gerald Hall of Swink, Oklahoma and Clinton Hall of Rainbow Valley, Arizona, survive Mr. Hall.
No services are pending.
Terry was preceded in death by his Father Wilson Hall 1993 and Mother Frankie 1988 and his Son. * * * * *

Hope you guy's are doing OK. I don't write much but thought I would let you know.
He had some neck & chest pain's sat. and sun.
I guess he was going to go in to the doctor Monday morning.
He collapsed in the bathroom about 10 PM Sunday evening.

We have at least two authors in our Class of 1958. William VAN ZANTEN has written one Marine's story titled "Don't Bunch Up", published 1993. As a first lieutenant, Bill, was a company executive officer in the first stateside Marine unit committed to combat in 1965. He served to the rank of Captain, and fought in Vietnam during 1965-66, and was awarded the Bronze Star, the Navy Commendation Medal and the Vietnamese Cross. And I was home working at the bank, having Delberts babies feeling safe and content!
1958 Class Celebrity TV STAR...Dorothy WHITFIELD McCorvy made a commercial for her employer HOME DEPOT and its the BEST one I have seen!

Maynards comment, "I remember when students used to walk into the room and say "Good morning, Mr. TIDMORE." Now they come in and say "Wazzup."
