The community was deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Wm. Coddington at the Veterans hospital in Grand Island, Nebr. Thursday. Deepest sympathy is extended to the family.

William Albert Coddington, son of George and Florence Belle Coddington, was born February 2, 1901 at Powersville, Mo. and departed this life at the Veterans hospital in Grand Island, Nebr., January 22, 1959 at the age of 57 years, 11 mos., and 20 days. When he was eight years old his parents moved to Palco, Kansas. Most of his life has been spent around Palco since that time. He served his country in the armed forces during World War II. He leaves to mourn his sudden departure, three sisters, Mrs. R.E. Jeffreys, Buffalo, Mo., Mrs. Bert Stokes, Palco, Kans., LaVada Coddington of the home, and one brother, Isaac Coddington of Macksburg, Iowa, also one half brother, Dan Coddington. Many relatives and friends.
Those here from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Turner of Gem, Mrs. Kenneth Akers of Hays, Mr. Wayne Coddington of Hutchinson, Mrs. Alice Hugley of Plainville, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Coddington and Mr. and Mrs. V.D. Coddington of Hill City.
