IN MEMORIAM

Thomas Kendall Coddington, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Coddington, was born April 5, 1896 at Powersville, Mo., and departed this life at the Plainville Rural hospital on his birthday, April 5, 1955, at the age of 59 years. With his parents he moved to the Palco community in 1909 where he grew to manhood. On October 16, 1921, he was married to Bernice Rouner of Luray. They established their home in Palco where they have since resided. Three children were born to this union, Mrs. Arlita Akers of Hays, Wayne Coddington of Hays, and Mrs. Marjorie Richardson of Menlo. He taught school for two years, then attended Wesleyan Business College in Salina. He served his country in World War I as a sergeant. After returning home he made banking a career, working in the First National bank of Palco thirty-four years. He was intensely interested in anything that made his community better. He was city clerk for thirty-one years. He was a member of the Palco Methodist church and attended regularly as long as his health permitted. He served his church in the capacity of Sunday school superintendent for a number of years. Survivors are his wife and three children, seven grandchildren; two brothers, William of Palco, and Isaac of Leon, Iowa; one half -brother, Daniel of Palco; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Jeffreys of Buffalo, Mo., Mrs. Myrtle Stokes of Lincoln and Miss Lavada Coddington of Palco, and one half-sister, Mrs. Fannie Osborn of Osgood, Mo. Funeral Services were held Thursday at the Palco Methodist church with Rev. C.L. Moody officiating. Interment was in Fairview cemetery with Mosher Brothers of Plainville in charge of arrangements
