Lewis. S. Coddington was born November 7, 1866 at Wyreka, Putnam County, Missouri.
In the early eighties he moved with his parents to Rooks County, Kansas where they settled on a claim, but owing to hard times in Kans., drouths and crop failures they were forced to abandon the claim and moved back to Putnam County, Mo. where he grew to young manhood.
In February 1902 he again moved to Rooks County locating near Palco where he lived until 1920 at that time he went to Parsons, Kansas where he lived until the death angel called him at 6:00 o'clock p.m. July 26, 1923. Age 56 years, 10 months, 19 days.
He leaves to mourn him his loss 5 sisters, Ella Rogers, Palco, Kansas; Fannie Osborne of Harris, Missouri; Ethel Myrtle and Lavada Coddington of Palco, Kansas; and 4 brothers, Daniel, Thomas, Isaac and William all of Palco, Kansas.
Besides these are many relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services were held at Canaan Chapel July 30th, conducted by H..O. Davis and the body laid to rest in Pleasant View Cemetery.
