General Notes: Ellis Barron was a Captain in the 1st Regiment, Middlesex Co., New Jersey of the Continental Army until the British entered the state, whereupon he became a Loyalist. His property was seized and sold at auction. He said he served against the British "because it was not an easy matter to avoid it." After joining the British Army, he was employed in bringing wood to the Barrack Office. He remained in New York after its evacuation, and in 1786 he petitioned for return his property. 2772 Ellis married Sarah STONE in 1760.2772 (Sarah STONE died on 22 Feb 1795 in Woodbridge, Middlesex Co., New Jersey, USA 2772 and was buried in First Pres. Cmty, Woodbridge, Middlesex Co., New Jersey, USA 2772.) |
