George S. CODDINGTON 2857General Notes: Not present in 1860. May have died, but a George S. served in Civil War in 1st Regiment, New York Mounted Rifles. Also, another George S. Codington gave his name to Codington Co. South Dakota. He was a circuit preacher and member of Dakota territorial House of Representatives, 1877-78. Possibly Congregationalist or Presbyterian. Said to have died of tuberculosis in Wisconsin. Burial location unknown. However, the Codington of Codington Co. was probably born prior to 1850, as was the Civil War veteran 4249,4553 Noted events in his life were: • He appeared on the census on 22 Aug 1850 in Seneca, Ontario Co., New York, USA. 2857 |
