General Notes: Loyalist during Revolutionary War. Noted events in his life were: • He had a residence about 1783 in Long Reach, St John, Kings Co., New Brunswick, Canada. 1044 • He owned land (1,200 acre land grant) in Westfield (Morrisdale), , New Brunswick, Canada. 1435 • He was mentioned in the will of Benjamin Coddington as one of his children. • Fact: Accused of treason in letter "To the Cartmen of New York, 29 Apr 1800, New York, New York Co., New York, USA. 1436 "But what fellow citizens, will be your indignation when I tell you that the very Man who dared to accuse a respectable citizen of being a Tory and an Enemy to Washington, was himself a tory, that his own father remained within the British lines during the war and at the peace, dreading the just anger of his countrymen, fled to Nova Scotia, where he now Resides. Nay, more, that this very Same Coddington was a Deserter from the American Army. Tho' bound to serve his Country by every duty, and under additional Obligations of a Solemn Oath. He added Perjury to Treason, fled from the Army, and deserted his uniform to the British at New York."
