• Military: 20 Jan 1817, , Montgomery Co., New York, USA. ⁹⁶³ Robert S. Leonardson, Jacob Coddington of Minden, and Elizabeth Coddington of Charlestown, swore that Jacob Coddington was the father of of Joseph E. Coddington, deceased, a soldier of Capt. Derick VanVeghton's co., 2nd U.S. Infantry. That the said Jacob died intestate shortly after the death of said Joseph, leaving "14 children, the brothers and sisters of said Joseph, as his heirs."
Army pay office 4 20 1816 records show that Joseph E. Coddington served from Aug. 21-Dec. 26, 1812, the date of his death.
