7th Indiana Cavalry, "History of the Seventh Indiana Cavalry," by Thomas C. Cogley, First Lieutenant, Company F. Originally published in 1876. This unit was formed during the middle of the war at Indianapolis in December, 1863, its was initiated to war with service in western Kentucky and western Tennessee, in connection with raids and campaigns of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest.. The 7th Indiana then saw action in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Texas. An interesting anecdote is their travels across Louisiana and into Texas. 306 pages, roster, index, photos, cost around $ 25.00
