Lora attended North Plainfield High School, and her best friend was Virginia Smith (Minard Smith, Jr's daughter) - and Virginia was the granddaughter of Mary Coddington Smith. Virginia married Jack Krause and lived in North Plainfield.
Lora attended college in Trenton for about 2 years, while working as a nanny and housekeeper for a family in Trenton. She was majoring in Accounting. However, her mother became ill, so Lora had to come home and care for her mom. Her mom died about a year later. Lora was very close to her mom, who everyone says was a wonderful person. From her mom, Lora learned many stories about family members, which she remembers to this day. Lora is still living (June 2000) in her family farm house, and is 90 years old (June 2, 2000).
She has been a member of the Mt Horeb United Methodist Church for more than 80 years. She has served as Trustee and Treasurer for many years. (from A History of Mt Horeb United Methodist Church, by Susie B. Boyce.)
