General Notes: graduated and commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, Light Artillery, March 1, 1811. Promoted 1st Lieutenant, 1 Sep. 1811, served in garrisons at Atlantic ports, 1811-1812, and all through War of 1812. Present on campaigns from Greenbush, NY to Plattsburgh and Lake Champlain, and back to Greenbush Oct-Dec., 1812, and suffered from exposure. Present at battles of Sackett Harbor, NY (5/29/1813) and Chippewa NY (5 July 181, and was wounded on the latter occasion. Promoted to Captain 31 Aug. 1814, honorably discharged 15 June 1815. Later was a U.S. Customs Inspector, at New York City, and Sutler at West Point, NY 1821-1825. 241 Noted events in his life were: • He was educated from 1808 to 1811 in U. S.
