Obituary of James R. Coddington

James R. Coddington, 73, of Rt. 2, Albany, Ore., died at a local hospital Wednesday, Dec. 28, after a long illness. Funeral Services were held Saturday, Dec. 31 at 2:30 p.m. at the Fortmiller-Fredericksen chapel. Rev. Orville Mick officiated, with Mrs. Eugene Fox as soloist and Mrs. Glenn Taylor as organist. Burial was made in Willamette Memorial Park with Enos Noah, Bayard Stull, John Penning, John McKee, Bill Drummond and Cleo Hinkhouse, pallbearers. Born May 29, 1876, in Wako, Iowa, Mr. Coddington moved to Kansas in 1881 and then to Oregon in 1935. He was employed as a carpenter at Camp Adair during the war and was employed at the M. & M. Corp., in Albany until two years ago. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints. Surviving are his wife, Mary E. Anthony Coddington, whom he married July 29, 1907; four children, Theodore Coddington of St. Helens, Ore., Mrs. Carl McCauley, Arthur and Gene Coddington of Albany; a stepson, L.V. Anthony of Portland; a brother J. V. Codington, Fredonia, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. May Thompson and Mrs. Eva Teeters, Independence, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren. One son, Danny, preceded him in death in 1933.
