  General Notes:

Cartman, then Lime Measurer. Lived in Perth Amboy, NJ and in New York City. New York 1790 census lists Uzziah and John Coddington, probably he and his son.
Presumably Uzziah moved to New York City because he was a loyalist. The New Jersey Gazette published a notice in 1778 that an ""Isaiah" Coddington had joined the "Army of the King of Great Britain," and a year later published a notice that the Middlesex Co. New Jersey lands of "Isaiah" Coddington were to be auctioned in March, 1779.
Buried in Presbyterian cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ. His will is to be found in Surrogate's Office, New York City. His will, dated 29 June 1815, may also be seen in Book B of Wills, page 234, in Surrogate's Office, New Brunswick, NJ. In it he mentions his wife, Jemima; daughters, Elizabeth Coddington and Sally Ann Coddington; son, Moses Coddington; daughter, Margaret Bloodgood; granddaughter, Letty Rice(?). Thomas Bloodgood (probably husband of Margaret Bloodgood), is excluded from share in estate. Moses Coddington and Ephriam Harriet are the executors. Inventory $528.00. ²⁵⁰

• He appeared on the census in 1800 in New York, New York Co., New York, USA. ²⁵⁵ Named as "Easias." Males: 1 >45 (Uzziah). Females: 1 <10 (unexplained), 1 16-25 (Elizabeth), 1>45 (Elizabeth). Although the marriage date of Mary (Polly) to Bloodgood is unknown, they had children in 1799 and 1800, so it is unlikely she was still in this household.
