Around 1800 John and his family lived in Montgomery, Orange Co., New York. Sometime between 1810 and 1820 they moved to Bridgeville, Thompson Twp, Sullivan Co., New York, which no longer appears on maps. Susan Coddington's letter states that her great uncle John was dead before she was born (1841), and that he was buried with his brother Isaac in "old Trinity Churchyard." ¹⁰¹⁶
