This article was published in the 25 November 1825 edition of the the Inverness Journal;
|
And the following death notice was published a week later in the 2 December 1825 edition of the the same paper;
|
The 1825 Lochbroom Militia List (see 25militia.htm ) only notes Angus McDonald at Ullapool (# 110 in the list, occupation "Fisher", age "Under 30"). The second article above looking to be a death notice submitted to the paper by family, mentioning only Angus indicates the other two MacDonalds were not his brothers.
Likely the two other McDonalds were not listed in the Militia List as under 16 years of age, the Parish Register records the christenings of two sons at Reiff to a father John McDonald in that period that might refer to them;
The parents and family of those boys are in the 1841 census at Reiff 41-18 , Their brother in that Household, Donald MacDonald, was a gt-gt-grandfather of myself, Donald MacDonald-Ross (EMAIL: [email protected] )
