This article was published in the 27 April, 1853 edition of "The Derby Mercury", noted as copied from the "Berwick Warder";

      LOUIS NAPOLEON INVITED TO INVADE THE HIGHLANDS.

--- Dr. Dawson, of Ullapool, near Dingwall, sends us the following extraordinary news respecting the state of his district -- "The people in this district of the Highlands have all but been in open rebellion, owing to the Marquis, of Stafford attempting to serve ejectments on the Giogach tenantry. The civil power has been totally defeated, and, as military was once expected, guns and ammunition were provided by the insurgents, and a message was to have been sent to Louis Napoleon to come to assist them. This is a fact." --- Berwick Warder.
