Born near Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County, New York, 1809. Married Abraham Palmer, 1825. Both baptized, 1835. Husband branch president. Branch started journey to Far West, 1838. Troubles with mobs. Camped four miles below Haun's Mill on night of massacre. Account of days following massacre.

Ordered to leave Missouri. Experiences during exodus. Hardships. Branch separated into groups of two families for safety's sake. Patience and husband settled in a village for rest of winter. Husband worked as carpenter. Continued exodus from Missouri, March 1839. To Springfield. Husband worked as carpenter. Called to Nauvoo to work on temple. Husband on police force. Excerpt from Patience patriarchal blessing. Member of first Relief Society. Author and husband worked in temple, 1845 - 46. Illness. Patience healed.
