Lucille Colby, 84, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Zirpel officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel.
Lucille was born June 22, 1922, to T.A. and Anna (Hitchens) Sankey, in Ute, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in Ute. After she graduated from high school, she attended Tri-State College in Sioux City.
On March 20, 1946, she married Alton Colby in Sioux City. She worked for a while at Armour and Company as a bookkeeper. Later, she worked at Kalin's Heating and Air Conditioning for many years.
She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a special nephew and his wife, Joe and Judy King of Bronson, Iowa; three other nephews; and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alton on Nov. 23, 2006; a brother, Cliff Sankey; and two sisters, Hazel King and Leone Wheeler.
