James Frost and Annis Polly Hall
James Frost was born between 1783 and 1788 in North Carolina probably to James Frost and Sarah Simpson. James Frost married Mary Annis "Polly" Hall on 28 Sep 1805 at Person, North Carolina. He died abt 1845 at Frost Hollow, Wayne County, Kentucky.
Annis "Polly" Hall was born abt 1789, probably in Surry Co., North Carolina. Annis Polly likely died between 1850 and 1860 in Wayne County, Kentucky. She shows up on the 1850 Federal Census as living in Wayne County, Kentucky with her son and daughter-in-law, Corydon and Almira (Owens) Frost and their baby son, Joseph. James and Annis Frost likely had at least the following children:

d.Doctor Franklin Harris Perdue, b. abt 1838; d. 17 Jun 1864, he was a Union soldier who died in the Civil War. He served in Co. E 13th KY Cavalary, and he had a wife named Armilda "Millie" Gibson (1824-1927), and had at least the following children: James M. b. Fountain T. Fox "Fount" Frost, b 1842; he was a Confederate officer who was killed in action in Sep 1863.
c. Samuel Washington Frost, b. abt 1844; He was also a Confederate solder who according to David Streets' research was "taken prisoner and died at prisoner of war camp in Chicago" on 26 Mar 1864. He is buried in the Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, IL.
d. Sarah Malissa Texas Frost, b. 2 Sep 1845; d. 30 Dec 1923 at Lynchburg, Ohio. On 8 Feb 1865 at Russell Co., KY she married Oscar Rowe (1841-1892). Stuart Corydon "Cord" Frost was born 30 May 1823 at Mullintown, Wayne County, Kentucky to James Frost and Mary Annis Polly Hall. He married Almira Jenette Owens at Wayne Co., Kentucky in Jan 1848. Cord Frost died in Wayne Co., Kentucky 19 Feb 1894. He is buried in the Gap Creek Cemetery in Wayne County, KY. During the Civil War he was a Private in The Union Army, Co. H, 13th Kentucky Calvary, served 1 Dec 1863-10 Jun 1865.
Almira Jenette Owens was born 1 Jun 1827 at Wayne County, Kentucky to Joseph Owens (1787-1875) and Sarah Coffey (1787 - 1861). She died on 21 Feb 1918 at Monticello, Wayne County, Kentucky, and is buried at the Gap Creek Cemetery in Wayne County, KY. Cordon and Almira had 10 children:

5. Charles B. Wolford Frost, b. 25 Oct 1862 Wayne Co., KY; d. 23 Apr 1906 in Oklahoma.
6. John G. Frost, b. Aug 1863; d. 7 Feb 1925 in Indianapolis, IN. He was living with his elderly mother, Almira J. Frost, in Monticello Ward 1, Wayne County, Kentucky on the 1910 U.S. Federal Census. He never married. He was killed by a train in Indianapolis, IN where he had been working prior to his death.
7. Mary "Mollie" Sherman Frost, 1865 at Gap Creek, Wayne Co., KY. She d. 22 Apr 1943 at Clinton Co., Kentucky. She married Ballinger W. Wright, Jr. (b. 1860, d. 1948). They had the following children:

Joseph Abner Frost was born 1 Dec 1849, to Corydon Frost and Almira Jenette Owens. He married Burnetta "Ellen" Ramsey, the daughter of Richard Ramsey and Sarah "Sally" Rector (the daughter of Samuel and Rutha Rector) on 31 Dec 1874 at Wayne County, Kentucky. He was the first person buried at the Gap Creek Cemetery (on Windy Hidalgo Road in Wayne County, KY). He died 9 May 1887.
Burnetta "Ellen" Ramsey was born 28 Apr 1857 to Richard Ramsey (1813-1879) and Sarah "Sally" Rector (1814-1905). Ellen's maternal grandparents were Samuel and Rutha Simpson. She died 21 Jan 1938 and is buried at the Beck-Rector Cemetery in Wayne County. After Joseph died, she married Henry Lewis Shearer, and she was referred to by my grandfather as Grandma Shearer. Joseph A. Frost and Burnetta "Ellen" Ramsey had 5 children:
1.Isaac Newell Frost, born 21 Nov 1875. He died 18 Apr 1896, after being bitten by a rabid dog.
2.William Thompson Frost, born and died 4 Feb 1878 (died at birth).
3Virginia Emmeline "Emma" Frost, born 13 May 1882, married Christopher Wayne Rector at her mother's house on 22 Feb 1901 in Wayne County, Kentucky. The officiating minister was Christopher Bell. Emma died 1 Sep 1963 at home in Wayne County, KY. Interestingly, both Emma and her husband, Christopher, were great grandchildren of Samuel and Ruth Rector. Emma Frost descended from Samuel's daughter, Sarah "Sally" Rector Ramsey (Samuel Rector => Sarah "Sally Rector Ramsey => Burnetta Ellen Ramsey Frost => Emma Frost), and Christopher Wayne Rector descended from Samuel's son, Jesse (Samuel Rector => Jesse Rector=> D.W.C. 4. Maggie "Nora" Frost, born 31 Jan 1885; d. 6 Aug 1970; m. John Absolom Ramsey (1876-1963 - son of George W. Ramsey (1847-1902) and Julia Minerva Acre (1851-1937)) on 17 Nov 1900 at Byrdstown, Pickett County, Tennessee. They had 11 children:
a. Myra Ellen Ramsey, b. 26 Sep 1902; d. 12 Dec 1997; m. Harrison Matthews (1891-1966). Children: Elba Harrison Matthews (1922-2006); Myra Evra Matthews (1923-2017); Lyle Ramsey Matthews (1926-1978); Elsie Faye Bertram (1931-1998); Grace Christine Matthews (1934-1998).
b. Sarah Mollie Ramsey, b. Oct 1905; d. 6 Feb 1998 IL?; in 1927 m. Donald B. Garner (1905-1974); the had at least the following children; Donald B. Garner (1929-2002); Claud R. Garner (1930-1970); Cletus Glenn Garner (1935-2011); Jimmy G. Garner (1938-1973); and two girls who are still living.
c. Bonnie Maebelle Ramsey, b. 10 Feb 1908; d. 9 Apr 1989; m. Fred Jenkins Lykins (1904-1978), they had at least one son.
d. Henry Newell Shy Ramsey, b. 1 Feb 1910; d. 23 Feb 1974; m. America Elizabeth Upchurch (1910-1996), Children: John Faye Ramsey, Freddie Kay Ramsey (1933-2015), Michael Ramsey, Sue Ramsey (1939-2017), and three daughters.
e. Grace Vene Pama Ramsey, b. 11 Apr 1912 KY; d. 14 Jul 1991 TN; m. Jeff Franklin Russell (1915-1982); at least two children: Gary Riley Russell (1939-1955); Jeff Grant Russell (1944-2013). She may have married a second time. Please let me know if you have better information.

i. Sibyl Julia Ramsey, b. 1 Jun 1920; d. 11 Dec 1999. She may have married a Donald Harrison? And possibly Robert Alexander Kelley? Her obit does not mention either, and she is buried under her maiden name. There does not seem to be children. She is buried at the Stop Cemetery in Wayne County, KY.
j. Reba Hazel Ramsey, b. 26 Apr 1922; d. 25 Oct 2014; in 1941 she m. Clarence Harding Bates (1920-2003). They seem to have had 2 sons and a daughter?
k. Raymond Julius Ramsey, b. 7 Apr 1924, d. 6 Oct 1943 (in WWII, Italy)
5. Charlie A. Frost, b. 20 Jan 1887; d. 20 Jan 1888; buried at Gap Creek Cemetery.
