She appears to have used the following books from The Memorial Foundation of the Germanna Colonies in Virginia, Inc. as her sources: The Germanna Record #4, 1963; and Ancestry and Descendants of the Nassau-Siegen Immigrants to Virginia 1714-1750, B. C. Holtsclaw, 1964.
Johannes Richter was born in 1605 at Siegen, Siegen-Wittgenstein, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. His father was Jacob Richter and his mother was Anna Maria (last name unknown) . In 1632, he married Anna Nee, and they lived in Seigen. Johannes was a member of the Guild of Hammersmith's and Smelterers, an trade organization into which he was admitted in 1638 or 39. According to Mrs. Smart's book (based on Germanna Record #4), he was a "Reidtmeister" or middleman.
Johannes Richter and Anna Nee had at least the following children:
1. Thomas Richter, born October 16, 1633
2. Tillman Richter, born September 13, 1634
3. Margaret Catherina Richter, born January 3, 1638
4. Johannes Richter, born February 12, 1640
5. Anna Richter, born February 2, 1642
6. Christophel Richter, born 29 Jun 1645, married Anna Catherina Becker ca. 1665, died abt 1713 at Trupbach. This is my direct line.
7. Hans Thomas Richter, born 14 Dec 1647 at Siegen, d. abt 1679
8. Hermann Richter, born 30 May 1649 at Siegen, in 1679 he married Anna Dorothea Meyer (Meyer was her first husband's surname). They had a son named Georg Henrich Richter (b. 1681) who had a son named John Jacob Rector who immigrated to Virginia in 1734. (b. 1707 in Germany, d. 1742 at Fauquier County, Virginia). This grandson (John J. Rector, the 1734 immigrant) likely married Mary Tilman (a Germanna girl) . Apparently, many of the Rector's in cenral Ohio descend from this branch of the Rector family. It is also possible that many of the Rector's in Campbell Co., Tennessee descend from this line.
