She married Howard F. WESP April 9, 1918 at Grace Episcopal Church in Elizabeth, Union County, New Jersey.(510) Howard was born April 6, 1897 in Westfield, Union County, New Jersey.(511) Howard was the son of Johan Philipp WESP Jr. and Anna Phoebe HOWARD. Howard died November 9, 1958 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, Union County, New Jersey at 61 years of age.(512) He was interred November 12, 1958 at Hollywood Memorial Park, Lot 66, Unit A, Sec 27A, Grave 4 in Union, Union County, New Jersey.(513) He was baptized May 23, 1897 in Westfield, Union County, New Jersey.(514)

Howard's name is given as Frederick Howard Anthony Wesp in the cited baptismal record of the Westfield Presbyterian Church.

HOWARD F. WESP

GARWOOD - Howard F. Wesp, 61, of 345 Spruce Ave., a self-employed carpenter, died yesterday at Overlook Hospital, Summit, after a 14 day illness.

Born in Westfield, Mr. Wesp lived in Garwood 10 years.

Surviving are his wife, Olive; a son, Howard E., Point Pleasant; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Archer, Garwood, and Mrs. John Becker, Silver Springs, Md.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Reese, Augustus and Stephen, Neptune, and Thurston, Morristown, and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, Morristown; Mrs. Emily Henry, Avenel, and Mrs. Susan M. Martin, Neptune.

The service will be held at Gray Memorial, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford.

MRS. OLIVE WESP, 81

GARWOOD - Mrs. Olive Grace Doty Wesp, 81, died Wednesday in Overlook Hospital, Summit, after a brief illness.

Born in Westfield, she lived in Garwood 30 years.

She was the widow of Howard Wesp, who died in 1958.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Florence W. Aspinall of Garwood and Mrs. John E. Becker of Troy, Mich.; a brother, John Doty of San Pedro, Calif., 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by the Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Cranford.

Olive Grace DOTY and Howard F. WESP had the following children:

child 458 ii. Howard E. WESP was born in Roselle, Union County, New Jersey December 14, 1920. Howard died June 21, 1968 at Paul Kimball Hospital in Lakewood, Ocean County, New Jersey at 47 years of age.(515) He was interred June 25, 1968 at Albert Cemetery, in Mountain Top, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

BRICK MAN KILLED WHEN BOOM FALLS

HOWELL TOWNSHIP - Howard E. Wesp, 47, of Brick Township, died yesterday after being struck on the head by a crane boom at the Eastern Precast Concrete Co., Victory Rd.

State police at the Howell Township barracks gave this account of the mishap:

About 11:25 a.m., Mr. Wesp was turning a concrete slab which was suspended by a crane. The crane's operator heard a noise. Mr. Wesp looked up, saw the boom falling, and tried to get out of the way.

The boom struck him on the top of the head.

He was taken to Paul Kimball Hospital, Lakewood, where he died about 1:40 p.m.

Trooper Robert Felicito is investigating.

Mr. Wesp, who lived at 534 North Lake Shore Drive, Brick Township, was born in Roselle. He was formerly of Garwood, and moved here 15 years ago.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, and attended St. Paul's Methodist Church, here.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Demra Wesp; two sons, Lawrence, Cranford, and Milton, at home; his mother, Mrs. Olive Wesp, Garwood and two sisters, Mrs. Florence Aspinall, Garwood, and Mrs. Beverly Becker, Tacoma Park, Md.

The Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
