324. Samuel S.7 DOTY (Elizabeth6 SUTTON, Uriah5, Zebulon4, Patience3 MARTIN, John2, John1) was born in Basking Ridge, Somerset County, New Jersey June 2, 1814. Samuel died March 21, 1871 in Union, Union County, New Jersey at 56 years of age.(410) He was interred March 1871 at Connecticut Farms Churchyard, Section III, Row I in Union, Union County, New Jersey.(411)

He married twice. He married Christiana F. BAKER April 27, 1837 at Westfield Presbyterian Church in Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey.(412) Christiana was born circa 1816 in Westfield, Essex County, New Jersey. Christiana was the daughter of Matthias BAKER and Hannah FRAZEE. Christiana died March 2, 1855 in Union, Essex County, New Jersey at 38 years of age.(413) She was interred March 1855 at Connecticut Farms Churchyard, Section III, Row I in Union, Essex County, New Jersey.(414)

She died of consumption, at the age of 38, leaving her husband and five children.

He married Sarah T. REID June 28, 1856 at Connecticut Farms Church in Union, Essex County, New Jersey.(415) Sarah was born September 17, 1816 in New Jersey. Sarah died August 24, 1909 in New Jersey at 92 years of age.(416) She was interred August 1909 at Connecticut Farms Churchyard, Section III, Row I in Union, Union County, New Jersey.(417)

He was born at his father's farm in Basking Ridge. The record of his marriage to Christiana Baker in 1837 gives his residence as Elizabethtown. The 1840 US Census record lists him as a head of household in the East Ward of Newark, NJ which is consistent with his appearance in the 1840-41 Newark City Directory at 45 Commerce Street. He and his wife were received as members of the Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church in Union, NJ on June 8, 1845. US and NJ Census records show him residing in Union, NJ from 1850 through 1870. The 1850 and 1860 records list his occupation as "Tailor" and 1870 shows him employed as a farmer.

Following the death of his wife, Christiana, he remarried in 1856. His second wife, Sarah Reid, survived him. He died at Union, NJ aged 56 years, 9 months, 19 days.

DOTY was born in Union, Essex County, New Jersey May 8, 1852.(424) Albert died February 23, 1854 in Union, Essex County, New Jersey at 1 year of age.(425) He was interred February 1854 at Connecticut Farms Churchyard, Section III, Row I in Union, Essex County, New Jersey.(426)
